CenterParcs, Longleat was the venue for the annual 4-day residential course for the Southwest Deanery Foundation Dentists.
A fantastic 4 days was had by all. Days 3 and 4 gave the Foundation Dentists the chance to rotate around 5 workshops. One workshop was the hands-on endodontic station hosted by Jon Cowie and Luca Moranzoni of Contemporary Endodontics
kindly supported by Nuview and Dentsply.
The young dentists learnt about the history of automated rotary instrumentation and watched a hands-on demonstration of the
WaveOne Gold (Dentsply) instrumentation system using the Nuview, Carl Zeiss Operating Microscope linked to a high resolution projector for the visuals.
Delegates enjoyed using the system and learning about its unique benefits. The dentists had the opportunity to use Carl Zeiss Loupes, for many it was their first experience of wearing dental loupes and they certainly liked being able to see things in great detail. They observed a further demonstration on obturation and finally were shown the detailed practical stages of fibre-post cementation under the scope.
The days were extremely interactive with lots of great and challenging discussion. Lots of new skills and concepts were learnt by all. Great fun and looking forward to next year already!
Next up for Contemporary Endodontics is the two-day hands-on course at Berwick Lodge, Bristol which will offer a far deeper
insight into modern-day endodontics and restoration of the endodontically treated tooth. We look forward to welcoming all of
our delegates to the event.
