Nuview Support's The Marah Trust
We would like to wish all our customers and suppliers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thank you for all your support over the past year.
As in previous years, rather than sending Christmas cards and gifts to our customers, we will be making a donation to a local charity. This year we are donating to a Stroud based Charity, The Marah Trust, who offer Support to the homeless and vulnerable throughout the year. Our donation will be to fund a Christmas lunch for those who are excluded from every day positive experiences of life. We expect that over 100 people will catered for with fine Christmas fare.
Who Are Marah?
Marah is a charitable organisation committed to supporting vulnerable and marginalised adults in the Stroud District, helping them to move on from their addictions and circumstances. We work with people on the margins of society; those who are excluded from the everyday, positive experiences of life due to their circumstances, life history and others’ perception of them.
Marah’s purpose is to offer friendship, wholesome food, advice, respect and hope to the people who come to us for assistance. We reach out to those in need, providing fellowship and support in a non-judgemental, welcoming framework.
Their vision is to be a key provider of support to those in need in the Stroud District, helping them to improve their physical and mental health and wellbeing. We aim to achieve this by helping our clients to access existing statutory and charitable services. Where these services are unsuitable or unavailable, Marah will aim to provide this help direct.
We look forward to working with you in the New Year.
Nuview Supports The Dental Mavericks Dental Aid Charity
Since 2010, charity Dental Mavericks has been delivering much-needed oral healthcare to disadvantaged communities across Morocco, and more recently Lesvos in Greece, and Lebanon. The dedicated team of ‘Mavericks’ is supported by a number of volunteers, one of who is Michelle Reid.
Michelle is Clinical Manager and Senior Dental Nurse at Heath Dental in Birmingham, but in her spare time is an active volunteer for Dental Mavericks. In June of this year, Michelle travelled to Gr…eece as part of a team to provide dental care to hundreds of families, and has been involved in a number of other projects since joining the Dental Mavericks family. This, along with her expertise in dental nursing recently earned her a place as a trustee for Dental Mavericks, and there are already plans in motion to travel to either Morocco or Lebanon in 2018.
Of course, as a non-profit organisation, all projects rely on fundraising, donations and the generosity of sponsorship from companies and individuals from the profession. Events such as the Dental Mavericks Ball – which is being held on Friday 26 January 2018 at the Hilton Hotel in Manchester – and the upcoming Atlas Mountain cycling challenge, are a big help in raising funds. However, for volunteers like Michelle, personal sponsorship is essential.
Nuview is therefore delighted to be sponsoring Michelle for her 2018 trip with Dental Mavericks, and looks forward to following her on her journey. To mark the occasion, Nuview’s Managing Director, John Woods, visited Heath Dental to present Michelle with a cheque and wish her well for the task ahead.
